WAR: MILITARY REVIEW OF 30,000 MEN:
173 INFANTRY MARCHING (N-F) 50 ft
‘Two contingents of Infantry march past the camera in long lines, each being preceded by its band. As the men march in orderly procession, 100 men or more abreast, a curious and beautiful effect is obtained as a glimpse between each line is caught. The men are seen marching splendidly together almost as far as the eye can reach.’

175 MARCH PAST OF MOUNTED DRAGOONS (N-F) 150 ft
‘Mounted soldiers are never seen to better advantage than when cantering from the distance, in one large company, straight to the spectator. At the beginning of the picture the men are seen far away in the distance cantering easily forwards, and as they come nearer, one can easily distinguish regiment after regiment, and all are seen to be in splendid form. There are several companies of the Royal Horse Artillery, several more of the Dragoon Guards, and others again of the 7th Hussars; while in the rear, last but not least, are the Pontoon and Balloon Sections of the Royal Engineers. Each company has a field gun or two with it, and as the horses come past right up close to the camera a very excellent idea is obtained of the splendid physique and fine training of England’s second line of defence. This is a really excellent film, and one which is highly interesting from its exciting nature and on account of its fascinating subject.’

178 ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY AND MOUNTED DRAGOONS GALLOPING (N-F) 50 ft
‘A very spirited picture of several picked companies from each regiment galloping over a plain. Each man bears his lance aloft with a pennant streaming from the point. Company after company passes in rapid style, each man accurately keeping his place in the line, and the picture is a very beautiful representation of a subject which is of interest to every loyal Englishman.’

179 MARCH PAST OF THE LANCERS (N-F) 125 ft
‘Company after company of mounted soldiers—Lancers, Dragoons, and others—march slowly past in company formation with intervals of 100 yards or so between each group. The men sit erect on their splendid steeds, all keeping their places in the line with absolute exactitude. Among the last company are the Royal Horse Artillery, with their kharki-coloured field guns. The steady, rhythmic movements of the horses, and the light glistening on their coats and the accoutrements of the men, make up a picture whose beauty will not readily be forgotten.’
